PRO-BONO WORK

EAG Studio regularly undertakes work to serve the community at large. Our preferred causes range from assisting disadvantaged members of our community to youth services and general urban planning for San Francisco and the Bay Area. We stand ready to offer our services where we can be helpful. Don't hesitate to submit your upcoming project for consideration.

Long before founding EAG Studio, Vin Léger came to believe that construction could build more than homes—it could also help rebuild lives. While earning his MBA from the University of San Francisco, he supported himself by working three jobs and volunteered extensively with organizations serving people experiencing homelessness. His contributions ranged from setting up information technology systems and assisting with client intake to taking on an unpaid management role at HFC at a relatively young age. During the same period, he collaborated with one of his professors on a book about business management—experiences that quietly shaped his understanding of leadership as a form of service.

Vin’s path into construction, design and architecture began with the restoration of a deteriorated 10,000-square-foot Victorian mansion. Working alongside the tradespeople he hired, he learned the construction process from the ground up while seeing firsthand how meaningful employment, practical training, and personal trust could give someone the stability needed to begin again. That experience eventually inspired him to form and operate a construction company with a social mission. Over seven years, the company provided employment opportunities to more than 110 people recovering from substance-use disorders or rebuilding their lives following involvement with the criminal justice system.

Many of those individuals had struggled to find employers willing to look beyond their past. Vin sought simply to provide a fair opportunity to develop trade skills, earn a dependable income, regain confidence, and establish a more stable path forward. This early chapter helped shape the values he later brought to EAG Studio: that responsible business should create social value as well as enduring places, and that thoughtful leadership can help expand dignity, opportunity, and the possibility of a second chance.

San Francisco and the Bay Area is afflicted with a housing challenge on many aspects. In its capacity, EAG is fully committed to being part of a solution. EAG’s members constantly seek to explore and incorporate creative options to help remediate the issue. We are constantly in search of realistic and well-balanced options with the hope of achieving greater fairness for all members of our society.

Green building and sustainable living

Our firm believes in socially responsible design and construction practices. We enjoy taking on LEED projects and promoting healthy living in general. We are very strong proponents of pro-actively planning for old age and newborns. We strive to design buildings that span generations so as to minimize waste in the immediate as well as in the long run.
